Creating Effective Incident Management – Policies and Processes
Any comprehensive incident management policy must prescribe measures for the collection, classification and use of incident data including specific procedures regarding the investigation of serious incidents. An agency’s incident management system should not only address regulations and agency procedures regarding incidents of harm to the individuals it serves but should also include the development of practices and procedures that support an organizational culture where the key component of its mission is to protect individuals from harm in the provision of services. There is specific guidance that the agency can provide to staff to promote an organizational culture where every employee’s primary concern is the care and safety of residents.
This course will provide opportunities for participants to systematically study the following issues that will assist in creating and implementing effective incident management policies and procedures.
