You are working on the investigation at the residence in the previous exercise. (The details of the case are provided again below.)
You are an investigator working for a provider with settings in three counties. One of those settings is a community residence located approximately 40 miles from your office. At 4:15 p.m. you receive a call from the Administrator, who informs you of an incident at the residence. She tells you that at approximately 2:45 p.m. that afternoon an employee called her to report that a nurse had slapped an individual in the living room of the residence because the individual spit out her medication. The individual has a scratch on her left cheek. According to the employee the incident occurred at 2:15 p.m. and there were no other staff members present. She also said that in the course of becoming irate at the individual, the nurse knocked over a tray of meds, including cups of liquid medication.
After arriving at the scene, you spoke with the manager on duty as well as the person who reported the incident. The manager told you that he had secured the living room of the residence where the incident had taken place.
Make a list of the steps you take to collect the physical and demonstrative evidence that might exist in the living room. As you create your list, identify any equipment that might be necessary to perform a particular task. You may make reference to any of the information contained in Chapter 3 of the Manual to complete this quiz.
This response will be reviewed and graded after submission.
